Grrreeat, Kalynn's running a little bit of a fever..Looks like this spring break is officially shot.
So I wanted to vent. I was totally horrified at Super Nanny the other day. Part of it was about extended breastfeeding (bf'ing past 12 months). She acted like if you choose to BF past 12 months that somehow the child is going to be psychologically harmed and forever clingy and dependent. "How do I put this nicely. She's hanging off your breeeeast" Umm..what???? Ok, first off, you cannot force a child to BF. Plus, the AAP says to continue BF'ing as long as both parties mutually want. Plus, the kid was 14 months!!! It's not like she was 14 years!! And yes, there are still benefits to nursing past a year-nutrients, immunities. booby milk doesn't turn to water after a year. It is hard to hear the criticisms. It's like everyone's "Yay for bf'ing!!" but when you get past a certain point, it's "You're still doing THAT! tsk tsk!"
