    I'm Glad They're Mine Too

The life of a SAHM with twin boys and a 4 year old little girl.

    Evening!!!

Last night was GREAT!! The boys actually slept til 6am!!!! It was nice. I woke up at 3am, and realized I didn't have any babies in the bed. I actually got to sleep the way I wanted to.

Yesterday was fun!! We went to the boobie group picnic. It was a great turnout. There was a spray ground, similar to Splash Factory but smaller. Kalynn played with a little girl, she had a blast. Great food, it was nice talking to everyone. After that, we went to Naomi and Chad's and hung out. Kaia was cute as usual!

I am really just over the moon for Naomi. She had a lot of problems getting pregnant, and then having miscarriages. Now she has her little girl and I think it's SO cool how all 3 of the babies played together on Saturday.

Today was pretty laid back. I even got a nap. Did some laundry. Bill mowed the lawn. He's still not done yet. It's so embarassing, our backyard is a jungle. Seriously. You'd need a machete to get through there.

Next Saturday is the boys' party!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!
The plan is probably go to mom's after the boys' wake up and eat breakfast. The boys can take their naps at mom's house and I can go and set up. I'll probably get the groceries then too.

    OK, gotta go..dinner time

    Friday, September 28, 2007

Evening! I had a really good day!! It was busy but good!

I went to Kalynn's "car" parade. It was so cute. The kids had some AWESOME cars!! It was so weird going though. First, we all had to stand in line to sign in at the office. They took our DL's and then made it into a sticker..I thought it was pretty nifty. This is where I got uncomfortable. The ENTIRE school was out in the hallway, sitting against the walls. I'm walking through the hallway and I swear, the entire school (including teachers) said in unison "Awww!!! Twins!!!!" So, it was just weird. I felt like we were on parade. Just really awkward. Then, the kids wanted to touch them, so we had little hands touching the boys as we passed by. I didn't mind that, it was just weird..

The parade started. It was sooo friggin adorable. Although, I felt bad for some of the kids. One kid had a cardboard box, with a hole in it, where he had half his body. It wasn't decorated, it was just a cardboard box...with a hold in it. Then, there was this poor little girl crying. She didn't have a cardboard car, she had to carry a little car made out of legos. So, she was crying down the hall, with this toy car. I felt SO bad for her.

After that, we went to the mall to meet up with Naomi and Kaia. I enjoy hanging out with her. We ate lunch and then went shopping. I got some awesome deals!! I got some shirts for the boys at The Children's Place for $2.50 each!! I also got part of Kalynn's gift too for dirt cheap. Then I had to go and get Kalynn from school.

Bill got home and then went to dinner at Chili's. One of the busboys jst LOVED Ryker. It was too cute. The guy did a thumbs up and Ryker tried to copy him.

    Now we're home!

Here are some pics from the parade:

    At home, before school

    During the parade

    the boys hanging out

    Good morning!!

It was an ok night. Just the same old same old. Ryker's been up since 5am. I just put him down for a nap.

Yesterday, met mom for lunch. I was supposed to bring K's fundraiser, but I forgot it. Doh. I was half way there when I realized it. I even had it all ready to bring too. I should've put it in my back pack.

Today, Kalynn has a "car parade. In school they've been studying about modes of transporation. The parents were told to make a car so they can bring it to school and then they are going to be in a parade and show off their creations. Bill made Kalynn a hotpink spaceship. Parents are allowed to go to the parade. I have pictures, and will take the camara to the school.

After that, I'm meeting my friend Naomi at the mall.

I'm so glad that today is Friday.

Tomorrow is the For Babies Sake picnic (that's the name of my bf'ing support group) and then Sunday, I'm meeting Aunt Iris.

OK, so here's a random thought. That show, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" Totally not a fair game. I don't think there's a lot of us still remember stuff that we learned 20 years ago (more or less) A lot of that stuff, we don't even use in real life. That stuff is fresh in those kids' brains, so of course they'd remember. So, they THINK we're smarter than us, maybe we should give them a taste of real life and then we'll see who's smarter! Bwahahahaha!!

Here's another thought...I can't stand it when people don't use proper grammar and/or punctuation and/or spelling. For example: You're and your..And of course, they're, there and their. Drives me NUTS when people say "What's you're favorite show" HUH? What's my you are favorite show?? It's basic grammar and spelling people. or typing like this, cuz they want 2 be kewl and stuff. or using words like u, ur, b4, etc etc. OR TYPING IN ALL CAPS. WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME? At one of my boards, this girl has "U is not a word" in her avatar. I totally love that!

OK, no more thinking. Makes my head hurt..

    Morning!!

Last night could've been better. They do sleep pretty well though. They sleep from 8pm til about 3am. I just wish they'd sleep til 6. I'm thinking about night weaning them. I'll probably wait until they're after a year old. I just gotta figure out how to do it...gently.

Monday was their therapy session. They had one at 10am, and then again at 1pm. It went pretty well I think. They were happy with their progress. They were surprised that Ronin was doing the things he was doing! Julie did a little evaluation (not official though) and Ronin is right at his chronological age and Ryker is 8 weeks behind :( The therapist assured me that he'll catch up.

Yesterday, I didn't go to my meeting. The boys are doing TONS better, but I didn't want to take the chance of getting the other babies at the meeting sick. Just wanted to be safe.

Daisy Scouts finally called. Kalynn will be going to Daisy Scouts every Thursday. It'll be either after school or at 6. The troop leader is going to call me so we can figure out a time to meet to figure out which time we all want. 6 would be better. That way, Bill can stay with the boys.

I dreamt about Grandma again. This one was so nice. We were outside, not sure where. And we were holding hands and walking. We were talking about something, but I don't remember what it was about. It was so nice, because I could actually *feel* her.

Anyway, I guess I better go..

    Monday, September 24, 2007

    Morning!!

Last night went better. Ronin woke up once, but then went back to sleep. The waking up started at around 4:30am. By 5:45, I just said screw it, I'll just get up. Plus, my throat hurt so I couldn't go back to sleep even if I wanted to. But overall, not too bad!!

Ronin isn't feeling well today :( He's coughing and just cranky. Doesn't look like I am going to go to my bf'ing group tomorrow. I called the Dr earlier, hoping she'll call me back. I'm just a little worried about RSV since they are still considered premature.

I also decided to email Good Day on channel 4 to see if they will air the boys' pics on their birthday! That would be SO cool if they did that! I have a teacher's conference that day so I will probably record it.

Anyway, not much else is going on! Better go...crying baby

    Saturday, September 22, 2007

Last night sucked major donkey doo doo. The boys were up seemed like every hour. Bill, at one point, rocked each boy for about an hour to hour and a half. Ronin coughed all night and is still coughing. And then, on top of that, I'm sick myself. Uggh, little germy Kindergarten kids!

I didn't run today. I just don't feel well today. So I thought I'd take it easy today..Sucks because I REALLY needed to run tonight because I ate horribly on Thursday. Oh well, I ran 4 x's this week, at 40 min each time.

Today, the boys have been cranky. I'm sure it's because they're sick.

Anyway, not much else is going on I guess. Same old same old, except with lots of coughing and sneezing.

    Friday, September 21, 2007

I am not feeling well today :( Neither is Kalynn. I ran this morning and felt like my energy was totally zapped. I did terrible :(

Kalynn got home and went and laid down on our bed and fell asleep. She isn't feeling well either. I think it's a cold or something. Yay Kindergarten and germs.

    Anyway, here's some pics:

    Ryker

    Ronin being a little ham

Ryker was poking his finger in Ronin's ear. Ronin thought it was funny

    Wrestling

    Boys playing
    Morning!!

Uggh, last night sucked. Babies kept getting up. Ronin has a bit of a cold, and he was coughing, so it was keeping him up. Uggh, stupid Kindergarten. Kalynn got a cold the first week she was there and now she's passed it on to us.

Bill's off today. He didn't even tell me! He SAYS he did, but I was surprised when I woke up and he wasn't getting up for work.

Today I plan on going for a run when the boys go down for a nap. I'm hoping to increase my mileage to either 3.5 or 4 miles. I don't know...maybe I should wait til I get my drink holder belt... I get SO thirsty when I get done with 3 miles.

Usually I hate watching Bringing Home Baby due to horrible BF'ing advice that the new moms are given. Seemed like the new moms are told to supplement because their milk hasn't come in, then baby won't latch, then mom gets frustrated, and then surprise surprise, she quit.

But I think they are getting MUCH MUCH better. Yesterday, the hospital told this new mom to pump, and then mix her colostrum with glucose water til her milk came in(Wha???? Unneccessary. Colostrum is all they fullterm babies need) She called her mom who's a home health care nurse and told her to ditch the water and just to nurse nurse nurse (Yay!!! Go mom!!) She also got the help of an LC and then the part where they come back after a few weeks, she was nursing!!!! Go mama!!!!

I'm just sick of the bad advice the medical community gives out and sabotoging new moms. Milk hasn't come in? Formula. Small baby? Formula. Big baby? Formula. Spitting up? Formula. Formula is the magic cure all, and BM sucks. I see it ALL. THE. TIME. My pedi was that way, my sister's pedi was that way, I see it with my friends. Just really frustrating...

Don't get me wrong, there ARE times where formula IS needed.

So, the lesson here? If you want to BF, please be careful with the advice that nurses or Dr's give you. Double check with an LC (IBCLC) or LLL. IBCLC's have extensive training in breastfeeding, and breastfeeding problems, so she (or he!) would be your best bet. Educate yourself as much as possible, be your child's advocate.

And so on and so forth

This song has been stuck in my head ALL DAY!!!!!!! DANG YOU RAFFI!!!!! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!

Anyhoo, today was pretty good. The boys had their one year pics and they came out SO CUTE!!! I can't wait to get them!! They will be ready October 5th, so what I'm thinking, is maybe have a framed picture of them and bring it to the party...I did one with them in jeans and a polo shirt and then I did one in just their diapers. Turned out pretty dern cute!

Bill got home and decided to go out to eat. We went to a pizza buffet. And yeah..umm..I didn't do too hot. I ate A LOT. That's ok. I just need to go run tomorrow and Saturday. I also need to eat better too. The boys ate A LOT! I gave them some mac and cheese and I can't believe how much food fit in those little tummies!

Tomorrow is Friday!! Hooray!! Kalynn gets out of school early, so I think that'll be good. The boys will be able to have a full afternoon nap.

Here's to hoping the boys will sleep well tonight!
Morning! It was a so so night. Ronin woke up 2x's but Ryker only woke up once.

I think Ronin must be going through a growth spurt. It's about time for one. He was SO CRANKY yesterday. And he took 3 naps which they rarely ever do. I noticed when he is tired, he throws himself back and cries.

Today, they are getting their pics taken for their one year. Hopefully, they'll cooperate. I'm hoping that after their breakfast, that they'll go down for a nap at 8am so they'll be happy for pics.

Kalynn got in trouble yesterday. I got a note yesterday saying she got in trouble at lunchtime. When I went to go pick her up, I got quite annoyed with the car in front of us. There was this teenage dude in a black mustang. While we're waiting in line, him and his GF suck face. Then, the cars go and they're just sitting there, sucking face. This is the SECOND time I got stuck behind this horn dog. Why can't they wait til they get home? Blech.

Molly, thanks you're too kind :D That's awesome!! I nursed Kalynn til she self weaned at 17 months and unfortunately, I got a lot of un-needed comments. I'm really glad that nursing worked out for us, especially with them being preemies Even more important to nurse when they're preemies! Wow, 4 kids!! How awesome!! I'd love to have another one, alas, it's pretty unlikely..

    Wednesday, September 19, 2007

I have the sweetest husband!! I just got a card in the mail from him! I guess he mailed it from school. It's so sweet!! Totally made my day.

Molly!! Hey!! How's it going?? Thanks for reading about my incredibly boring life LOL
Babies are napping so I have time to post!

Yesterday, I went to my bf'ing support group. Ryker finally gained some weight! Ryker's about an oz or so from 19 lbs and Ronin's about an oz or so from 17 lbs. Yay!! I got there and one of the moms there mentioned that they've gotten so big! I was VERY happy to hear that. And the same gal mentioned that it looked like I lost weight. I could've kissed her! I've only lost 9.5 lbs, but still it was nice to hear.

Tomorrow, the boys have their picture appt. I have no idea what they are going to wear. I should go get them a little sailor suit, and not tell Bill. Bill would DIE because he hates sailor suits on baby boys. Uggh, I seriously don't have a clue. Shorts? Pants? Jeans? It's so much easier with a girl, find a cute dress and voila!

I can't believe the boys are going to be ONE!! Wow..I already sent out the invites. I can't believe it's a little over 2 weeks away!!

OH and I do plan on BF'ing even after they turn one. I don't mean to be rude, but if you don't agree with it, fine, but keep it to yourself. My decision is made, and no one will change my mind. In fact, maybe read a little about it before making any judgements:

    But anyhooo, plans for today:
    Laundry
Clean the house, it's a huge pigsty!!!
    go for a run tonight

    Monday, September 17, 2007

We had a great night!! The boys woke up ONCE!! Woohoo!!!

The weekend was ok. Friday, I signed Kalynn for Daisy Scouts! She's now officially a Daisy Scout! There are 2 troops being formed, so we're supposed to meet to figure out which troop she's going to be in and when we are going to meet.

Saturday, we went to a bbq at a friend's house that I haven't seen in over 3 years! It was nice seeing her. Our friends Naomi and Chad were there too, so at least I knew a few other people LOL

Sunday, I did laundry, worked on costumes, worked on invites, and ran my 3 miles! Not at the same time of course.

Boys are doing well! Ronin is standing for a few seconds unassisted. And he can bend down, get something from the floor and then throw it out over the play yard. Silly boy! Ryker is doing better sitting up. He's even trying to pull up. He likes to make faces through the little slots. So, we're having fun!

Kalynn is doing so much better behavior wise. School is really helping, I believe. They are VERY structured which is exactly what she needs. She does need a few reminders here and there, but I am confident she will excel!

    Anyway, I better go!

    Friday, September 14, 2007

I'm becoming a bit more sensitive to twin comments. Maybe it's because I used to make comments like that. I see how insensitive it was now that I have twins I really take offense when someone is so adamant that they do not want twins. You know, twins are NOT that horrible. They are beautiful children and I don't understand why anyone would say anything negative about having beautiful children, whether it be 1, 2, 3, or so on.

Yes, it's work but so are a lot of things. Because it's harder, does that mean we shouldn't do it? I am so lucky and grateful to have twins. Yes, lucky!

I'm glad they're yours and not mine! I'm glad they're mine and not yours too
    Double Trouble! Double the Fun!
You sure have your hands full! And my heart is full
Ewww...twins! Don't even know how to comment to that one..I just told the woman she was rude
I feel sorry for you! Please don't feel sorry for me

And a few other things have been bothering me. My boys are 6 weeks premature, so they are a little behind in some skills. It's really really difficult when I read about what a baby the boys' age or younger are doing. Some of their peers are a little "advanced". When I read about what they're accomplishing, while their parents should be proud, at the same time, it's like pouring salt in my open wound. I know it's not my fault, but it's hard to get past that. Maybe somehow, I should've done something different so they could've been in there for a little longer. Ryker is just now sitting unassisted for a long period of time and scooting and he's almost a year. So, it's a little difficult when I read that little Johnny, who is the same age as my boys, is already walking and talking in full sentences.

I try to avoid "bragging threads" on my message boards because all it's going to do is make me feel like crap. Maybe as they get older, it'll be better..

    Thursday, September 13, 2007

I wanted to post this..I've seen this passed around my message boards and Myspace. Shows how messed up society is torwards breastfeeding moms. It's ok to show boobs as long as they're being used to sell something or to gawk at. But heaven forbid a baby nurse? Uggh, how horrifying!

I'm thankful for not having boobs thrown in my face all the time by offensive and indecent breastfeeding mothers like the ones below:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Wait...Well, this is a bad example. Let's try again.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Hmm...Just a minute. I'm sure I can find better ones than these...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Eh, still not offensive enough. I'll check one more time.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
That is better. LOOK AT THAT! I see about a half inch of boob. DISGUSTING.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
UGH. Look at that indecency! She must be from some third world country to be exposed like that!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Now that's just...There are no words to descripe how inappropriate that is. Something needs to be done!

But why stop at breasfeeding women? There are boobs everywhere. Beware! If you thought the above photos were offensive, you WILL DEFINITELY be offended by the photos below.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Not this one, though. This one was in plain view on news stands and in mail boxes in 19 countries world wide!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Not this one, either. This one actually won an award!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Oh, and I guess this one is fine too. Everyone knows you can't sell jeans without someone being topless.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
    Or beer, for that matter.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
    Or sunglasses.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
    Or movie tickets.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
    Or CDs...

You know what? Maybe I'm crazy, but I think that someone mixed up some photos here. The first batch are offensive, but the second batch are just fine and dandy???

    Costumes

Yay!! I am so excited!! Kalynn is adamant about being a "stunk" (skunk). I went to Old Navy and found one but it looks too "young". Like it's meant to be for little kids. I went looking online and found this:
    http://family.go.com/entertainment/craft-FF-23828-Skunk-Costume-t/

It looks SO easy, so that's what I'm going to do for Kalynn. I just have to go to the boys' dept and get black sweats and then go to Jo Ann's and get the faux fur.

This is the pattern I'm using for the boys:

It's the pirate one, but I think I'm going to skip the hat..I dunno, looks sorta silly to me. Bill wants to make them little swords.
    Good morning!

It's been a pretty good week so far.

Monday, the boys had therapy twice in one day, at 10am and 12pm. They didn't get much of a nap that day. So they were pretty cranky. Of course, since they got crappy naps, it meant for a crappy night. The "sleep begets sleep" really rings true for the boys.

Tuesday, met my mom for lunch. I didn't want to go home, so I went to Party City to look at themes for the boys' birthday party. Nothing really appealed to me. Then, went to Old Navy. Kalynn wants to be a skunk. The costumes that I found were at least $25. But some ladies on my message board suggested ON and found one that's a pretty good price! I'll probably get it this weekend. Then, later that evening, we had a meeting up at school. It was for volunteering. I signed up but told them that if it's during the day, it'd have to be where I can bring my twins.

    Today, not much is planned!!

Thursday, we have a Kindergarten meeting..The note said it was about expectations, and what they're learning.

Friday, I'm going to go sign Kalynn up for Girl Scouts. She's going to be a Daisy Scout. I think it'll be good for her. It's something just for her and she'll meet other girls. She's excited because, in her words, there are "no disgusting boys".

Saturday, We have a cookout at a friend's house! I haven't seen her in AGES!!! Since Kalynn was a baby! I can't wait!!

Kalynn's been doing ok as far as school. She is struggling with handwriting. I know, she's only 5, but I think at this point, can't they write SOMETHING?? Kalynn can't write ANYTHING. The teacher said that if there's no improvement, that she's going to call in the OT. She's having trouble staying on task and paying attention..Uggh. At home, she gets so frustrated after a short time of doing homework. I don't know if it's just her being defiant, or if there is something really going on. From what I have read, this is very common with kids with ADHD. Yesterday, she had to draw 5 things that started with the letter S. So, I drew a chart, with 5 boxes. I put a check whenever she got done. That seemed to really help.

Anyway, I gotta go..Babies are crying.

    Saturday, September 08, 2007

OK! I think I got the invitation thing worked out! My friend suggested doing a pic invite, and she's going to help me design it and then I'll go just print it up at Walgreen's or whatever! So yay!!

Last night was horrible. The boys went down at 7:30, and went to sleep. It all started at 10pm. They woke up every 2 hours. At one point, Ryker woke up and refused to go back to sleep. He wanted to play. I rocked him and he finally fell asleep. It was just so frustrating!! I love having twins but this part is the part where it's really difficult and frustrating, and yeah, sometimes I wish I just had one baby to deal with. But, it's just a passing thought..

    Friday, September 07, 2007

    It's Friday!! Woohoo!!

The rest of the week went well. Kalynn continued to do well, no time outs! She said she is enjoying school now.

I can't believe my boys are going to be 11 months!!! Which means I have one month to plan the boys' party. I have the venue, but still not sure of the time and the theme. Here's my dilemma...I'm thinking about making their invitations. But I see a few cons. I don't think anyone will keep the invites will they? They usually end up in the trash. So, what would be the point of making nice invitations for them just to end up in the trash?

As far as themes, I'm not sure. I don't know if I want to do a twin theme, or just a boy theme, like sports or something. I dunno..

I can't believe how much little babies can rough house!! They fight over stuff. For example today, Ryker was lying on his back playing with a rattle. Ronin goes over to Ryker, and attempts to crawl over him. Ryker smacks him in the head with the rattle and kicks him. And then, Ronin tries to bite him! Never knew that babies could do that! They do play together too. It's crazy!

Anyway, I better jet. I plan on running tonight.

    Wednesday, September 05, 2007

Good evening! Pretty good week so far. Kalynn has been doing very well in school. This week, the teacher has been sending Take Home folders with their behavior charts. She has gotten an "excellent" stamp 2 days in a row! She said that the teacher has her be the "helper" and that she got to be the line leader. I don't know about anyone else, but that was SUCH a big deal when I was in elementary school. She's doing so well that I don't think we'll need meds!

Yesterday, I ran up to JoAnn's to look at patterns. I have decided to make the boys' their costumes. I got the pattern, and fabric for both boys about the cost of ONE costume. I'm going to make them little pirates. The pattern doesn't look too difficult. Pants, easy scmheezy. The sash, easy schmeezy. One part of the shirt looks a little difficult, but I can figure it out. Now to figure out what Kalynn wants to be. She said she wants to be a skunk, and if she really wants to be one, I guess I can figure it out . I can probably get a black leotard and tights, paint the middle back of it white, find a headband with black ears and somehow make a tail.

Today, it was raining early this morning. Part of 67 N was shut down due to flooding, the town south of us was flooded and then on 287N and 360, that area was flooded. So I was stuck home. Good thing I didn't have anywhere to go.

Anyway, I guess I better get to bed..

    Monday, September 03, 2007

Uggh, sorry to harp on the NIP issue. One of my friends in my boobie group was harassed yesterday. She was nursing discreetly in her sling and she was told to cover up and handed a cloth napkin. I'm wondering if this happens more than we think. I wonder if it's really under reported, and moms just don't know their rights. I swear, people say "breast is best!" but only on their terms ie, only for a certain amount of time, and locked away in your house.

Anyhoo, we had a pretty good weekend. Friday, mom took all 3 kids so that Bill and I could go for dinner ALONE. No little piglets sharing off of my plate. It was great. I know I ate WAAAAAY too much. But it was yummy.

Saturday didn't do much of anything. Sunday, Brandon and Karla were in town. So, Andy, Kim, their crew and our crew met them at a Chinese restaurant. Then, Kalynn went and played at Andy and Kim's house (they just live down the street) for a bit after her bath.

Today, Lisa came over and ran with me. It was nice having some company while running. We were going to go to my dad's but Ronin has a bit of a cold. It's not too bad, but I didn't want to risk getting Jackson or Isabella sick.

Tomorrow, Kalynn goes back to school. I was able to walk her to her class but not this week! Bill is going to drop Kalynn off at school and then I will pick her up..

The boys have learned some new skills! Ryker is clapping and Ronin is waving. It's really cute..

Anyway, I better jet. Gotta get babies and Kalynn ready for bed, finish up laundry, and make Kalynn's lunch..
